About the location and the neighbourhood:
This spacious townhouse is located in the popular “Indische buurt” neighbourhood. The district is characterised by a cosy atmosphere and, due to its convenient location on the east side of Haarlem, it is a very popular residential area. Children can walk to primary school and secondary schools are easily and quickly reached by bike. There are several supermarkets and local shops in the immediate vicinity of the house and the historic city centre of Haarlem is just a 15-minute bike ride away. And if you continue cycling, you can be on the beach of Zandvoort or Bloemendaal within half an hour! At 10 minutes of cycling distance, you will also find the beautiful recreation area “Schoteroog” aan de Mooie Nel”. From Haarlem Central Station (10 minutes by bike), there are very good train connections to Schiphol Airport (35 minutes) and Amsterdam (15 minutes). You can also reach the A9 easily and quickly by car, due to the favourable location of the neighbourhood.
Property layout:
Ground floor:
Through the spacious front yard with a tiled terrace, we arrive at the front door of the house.
Behind the front door, we find the draft portal with the meter closet and behind it the central entrance with wardrobe, toilet, staircase to the first floor, cupboard under the stairs and the access to both the living room as well as the closed kitchen.
The living room is incredibly light and feels nice and spacious due to the high ceiling (2.85 metres). We see a lot of attractive elements such as a bay window, decorative mouldings with a rosette along the ceiling, a fireplace, a wooden floor and authentic wooden garden doors.
The closed kitchen is located in a separate room and is equipped with a gas cooker, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and a dishwasher. There is also a back door to the garden here. When the dividing wall between the living room and the kitchen is broken through, you could create a beautiful open-plan living kitchen here!
First floor:
Through the staircase in the hallway, we reach the landing of the first floor. Here, we find 3 bedrooms and the bathroom.
All bedrooms are of a good size and have built-in wardrobe space. The large bedroom at the front has beautiful French doors with stained-glass elements. These doors provide access to a modest balcony overlooking the street.
The neat and complete bathroom is equipped with a second toilet, a double washbasin with vanity unit, a bathtub and a separate rain shower.
Second floor:
Via the fixed staircase on the first floor, we reach the spacious second floor with another 2 rooms. One of these currently serves already as a bedroom and has a beautiful stained-glass element in the window plus access to a spacious balcony on the garden side. The other room contains the connections for the white goods set-up and has a kitchenette with a tap. A student living at home or an older teenager would feel completely at home on this floor or you could make a nice office space or hobby room here.
Garden:
The house has a spacious and very sheltered backyard which is facing south-east. It is a lovely place with lots of greenery and several tiled terraces. At the back of the garden stands a handy stone shed which is equipped with electricity.
