History
The building was built around 1834.
Around 1910 the house was renovated in the architectural style of neoclassicism.
The front facade of the house was rebuilt in miniature brick with relief brick fields. At the top mezzanine windows as windows and on the first floor 24 pane sliding windows 5 in a row. Above the windows brick cockscombs. The gutter with dentils and an arched skylight all this under a hipped roof with a flat top.
The interior of the roof is made of pine with beams over the entire width.
All this is listed as a national monument because of its architectural historical importance.
The interior is special.
Layout:
The entrance to the apartment is at the rear adjacent to a city garden with a carport for parking. Under a neo-classical balcony is the original door to the porch. For safety, it is equipped with an alarm. A second glass door gives access to a long hall with original marble floor where the stairs to the apartment are located. The stairs are carved wood.
First floor:
Upstairs you arrive at a landing that connects the rooms. As in that time around 1910, all rooms are connected to each other.
Characteristics of the rooms are that they are still in the style of 1910 if you look at the stuccoed ceilings with themes and the door styles matching the ceiling. It gives the atmosphere of an Amsterdam building with the ceilings with a height of 3.30 m.
The first floor has a spacious living room with a separate dining room in the original color blue and a white fireplace. This room has an antique chandelier from 1910.
At the back with a view of the garden and the adjacent spacious outdoor terrace, is the kitchen equipped with all amenities. The kitchen is white in color and has a corian top with a double sink in one piece. The design of the kitchen is airy and modern, equipped with a dishwasher and combination microwave and has a view of the staircase and an old balcony with wrought iron fencing. The kitchen is so spacious that a dining area with 6 chairs easily fits in it.
At the back is also the master bedroom with all modern conveniences and a fixed built-in wardrobe with plenty of storage space. The bedroom has a spacious bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet and a double sink with a large custom-made wardrobe.
Second floor:
The fixed staircase to the second floor gives access to the loft with bedroom, this is the largest room in the house with a beamed ceiling and a solid oak floor restored to perfection. The loft has a spiral staircase of bronze patinated iron with a lizard as decoration that leads to a bedroom for two people.
The loft has glass cabinets, which can be illuminated. equipped with antique Dutch bolts with which they can be opened and closed. The loft has two walk-in closets with clothes rails over the entire length. One for storage and the other for the laundry area with washing machine and dryer connection.
This space also houses the central heating and boiler. Closet space and washbasin.
The rear part of the attic has a special function. It contains a sauna, space for a bed with a spacious balcony with cozy lighting. The balcony is built into the roof and has a glass wall. Adjacent to this space is the second bathroom, a relaxation area with a whirlpool and steam shower. Equipped with a skylight.
