Seller says
What makes the current residents enjoy living here and why did they decide to sell the house? Seller tells.
When did you buy the property and why did you decide to buy this property then?
I bought the home in 2020. It is the first house I was able to buy on my own and I was very proud of that. Then I did my best to make it my own little palace. A new kitchen, the central heating moved to the balcony, electricity and cables neatly worked into the wall. In the bedroom and living room I created extra space by removing the built-in closet. Now there is a useful corner for a desk or dresser.
Before this I lived in the Pijp area. Where I saw little of the outside world between the tall houses. I remember well the first time I visited this house. When I entered I was immediately in love. What a view and what a lot of atmosphere inside! Lovely to be able to look over the water to the park like this. What is nice to see is that everyone who walks into the street here is completely blown away by the beautiful view. Because you live so much with the outside, you also catch all the sun rays that are there whether you are inside or on the balcony.
My favorite spot is with a cup of coffee in front of the living room window. You can enjoy peering at everything that passes by. Early in the morning you catch the sun on the balcony behind, and just after it comes through the bedroom windows to the front where you can enjoy it for a very long time.
What makes it so pleasant to live in this house and neighborhood?
The park is number one. When I moved here (and working from home was a corona hit) I went for a lot of walks in the park. Calls I also often did walking through the park. Plus there is a top coffee shop in the park. It also hosts several sports classes. You can tell this is a popular place in the neighborhood.
Furthermore, I find the De Clercq street super, you're in no time in the Jordaan and on the Bilderdijkstraat. For me, that's living in nature and the city at the same time! An additional advantage is that parking here is still reasonably doable (also for your visitors) and you are quickly on the A10.
I have always had good contact with the immediate upstairs neighbors. Very sweet people who have lived there for a long time and know the neighborhood well. They love to tell you about it! I really liked it when someone can help you out sometimes, borrow a staircase or open the door when you're not home. A nice feeling and from the places I have lived in Amsterdam I have not had such a good relationship with the neighbors before.
Why are you leaving/why is the house for sale?
I moved to Utrecht for love. Unfortunately couldn't take this view with me.
