SHORT INTERVIEW WITH THE CURRENT OWNERS:
Why did you buy the apartment?
I purchased the apartment 10 years ago after a relationship ended and moving from Nijmegen to Amsterdam. I wanted a fresh start and was initially looking for an apartment near Westerpark with more space... but when I first viewed the apartment the greenery gave a feeling of peace albeit living in the centre. The apartment is unique.
What do you think are the most important elements of the accommodation?
The light. The greenery. It’s so cosy it feels like I’m living in a tree house apartment in the centre of the city.
I hang a hammock on the balcony and sit under the trees, parrots and bats in the evening watching a movie on my tablet with a glass of wine.
The bedroom is spacious, and I sleep well with the noise insulated windows.
The apartment itself fulfilled all my requirements at that stage of my life.
What do you think are the most attractive elements of the location of the apartment?
Despite being centrally located the neighbourhood is very friendly. There’s a neighbourhood whatsapp group and there are bi-annual events hosted for and by the local residents IN the Leidsetuin; projector film screenings, gardening together and seasonal social events (e.g Halloween get together drinks).
Een oase van rust in het bruisende centrum van Amsterdam.
