Description
Situated on one of the nicest parts of the Prinsengracht, between the Looiersgracht and the Passeerdersgracht is this fantastic canal house from 1828. The apartment of approx. 183 m2 has 4 bedrooms and is located on the two top floors of the building with private entrance on the ground floor and a private garden of approx. 39 m2.
Unique is the right word for this seven window wide monumental object.
In the 16th century there was an amusement park in the middle of the city. Back then it was on the outskirts of the city. The Jordaan and the Grachtengordel did not yet exist. The little gate at Prinsengracht 338 was the entrance.
Layout
Spacious entrance on the first floor with stairs and double door to the back garden. The current residents do not use the garden but here is a very nice place to create. An oasis of peace and green in the middle of the city.
First floor
Vide. Hallway. Spacious room now used as a bedroom but could also serve as an office. Upon entering the sitting room it is immediately noticeable that this is a special apartment. The high ceilings (approx. 3.21m high), the width of the building and the large number of windows provide an insanely beautiful light. There is a beautiful wooden floor and almost all windows are double-glazed. The neat kitchen has plenty of storage space and is equipped with various built-in appliances. Next to the kitchen is a utility room with space for washer and dryer. Hallway. Toilet with hand basin. Stairs to the first floor.
Second floor
Bathroom with shower, sink and toilet connection. Large master bedroom and two other good size bedrooms. The bedrooms are located under the sloping roof. Because of the many windows and the height, all rooms are bright. There is a beautiful original wooden floor and the beams are nicely visible.
Third floor
Central heating room. Spacious storage room and an attic.
It is a wonderful house as it is but there are also many opportunities to make something else beautiful out of it.
