Description
A special place with a beautiful history to which you can add a new chapter. The Resurrection Church, established in 1926 in the Ramplaan Quarter, is a picture-perfect interbellum church with beautiful steeple. This unique, inspiring church is a special place to live and work. With an area of 290 m², which can be divided as desired, all your dreams will come true.
The approximately 10-meter high, authentic wood-finished ceiling gives you a sense of magic and spirituality. Beautiful stained-glass windows, plenty of light from the skylights and church doors that open up make the former church a special and imaginative space where creativity, freedom and pure living enjoyment come together. Respecting its history, this gem has been polished but also offers the new owners the opportunity to add a personal touch.
History and location:
The Resurrection Church, designed by architects Mulder and van Asdonk, is a Dutch Reformed Church founded in 1926. The church building stands on former territory of Elswout estate in the popular Ramplaan neighborhood. The last church service was held on Sunday the 7th of June 2015, and its transformation into a residence took place in 2006. The church building is designated as a Municipal monument.
Layout:
Where the entrance to the church used to be, the original entrance doors have large window frames that can be opened to the front garden. There is a double entrance, making it possible to separate business and private.
The church hall is an immense space where height, light and space create an interesting spectacle. Skylights have been installed without being prominent in the whole. Admire the wooden floor, stained glass windows and high ceiling with wooden roof construction. To the left is the kitchen with a beautiful tile floor, high gray walls and a light wall unit with several appliances. The kitchen is connected to the laundry room/utility room, equipped with fixed cabinets.
There are currently two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor. Bathroom I, adjacent to the utility room, is equipped with a toilet, modern sink and a walk-in shower. Bathroom II is accessible from both bedrooms and furnished with a walk-in shower, toilet and a sink. The high ceilings in the bedrooms invite a creative interpretation, realizing a mezzanine is one of the possibilities.
Garden:
A special feature of this unique property is that it has a front and back garden. French doors in the master bedroom give access to the private backyard facing west. The very generous front garden offers a lot of privacy, thanks to the high, natural fence.
Unprecedented possibilities
The living area can be involved with the church hall according to one's own taste and insight and, with a clever design, can be created into a harmonious and very exclusive combination of living and working. By adding any intermediate floors, while preserving monumental parts, the number of m2 can easily be expanded. The spacious attic and spire can be integrated with the existing spaces.
Surroundings:
The church building stands at the end of Ramplaan, around the corner from Tennis Park Duinvliet. Diagonally across the street is the famous catering establishment 't Wapen van Kennerland. After a short walk you reach Elswout estate and by bike you can quickly reach Zandvoort, Overveen, Aerdenhout, the popular Bloemendaal aan Zee and the center of Haarlem.
Parking:
There is the possibility to park at least 2 cars on private property.
