The golf course, tennis, hockey and/or football clubs are accessible by bicycle. The village also has a brand new sports hall with swimming pool. Abcoude has its own theatre, library and many cultural activities and a historic rural outlying area with many cycling and walking opportunities. Furthermore, you can go by boat or bike to Vinkeveen, where you can enjoy sailing or swimming. Amsterdam is about 10 minutes away by car. Schiphol Airport at 20 minutes and Utrecht at 25 minutes. Abcoude has a train station. Within 20 minutes you can be in CS Amsterdam, CS Utrecht or Schiphol by train.
