Description
This unique waterfront home is located at the tip of Borneo Island. The property boasts an area of approximately 131 m² and features an indoor garage, two terraces on the waterside, and a large terrace at the front.
Designed by architect Koen van Velzen, this extraordinary house is characterized by its spacious layout and remarkable natural light. Each floor offers a stunning view over the water. The floors and ceilings are made of stainless steel, giving the house a sleek and modern appearance. The highlight of the home is the Acacia tree, which extends from the bottom through the atrium and all the way up through the roof.
From the house, you can step directly onto your boat from the terrace or take a refreshing dip. It is also possible to add a dock to the terrace, extending your outdoor space.
This unique home, spread over four floors, is situated on one of the first building plots in the area, issued in 1997. This was a unique project in Amsterdam at the time, where private individuals commissioned various architects to design architecturally high-quality and unique properties. The distinctive architecture of this house is internationally recognized, attracting architecture enthusiasts from around the world for inspiration.
LAYOUT:
From the street, you reach the indoor garage with an electric access door and the entrance to the house via a gentle stainless steel staircase. The centrally located stairwell with elegant floating stainless steel steps provides access to all living levels.
First Floor (Water Level):
From the hall and the beautiful stainless steel staircase, you reach the lowest floor, which is at water level. This floor is arranged as a studio/workroom with built-in wardrobes and a door to the sunny south-facing terrace with a mooring place for a boat. Behind the studio/workroom is a sleek bathroom with a bathtub, sink, mirrored wall, and built-in storage cabinets. From the hallway, you have access to the storage space under the parking area.
Second Floor (Bel-Etage):
Behind the front door, in the hall with an open staircase, you find a toilet with a fountain. At the back is a very bright bedroom with two built-in wardrobes, a foldable bed, and a French balcony. From the bedroom, you reach the bathroom with a sink and a walk-in rain shower.
Third Floor:
Via the stairs, you arrive at the landing with a door to the very spacious terrace with built-in wardrobes and the Acacia tree at the front. At the water side is the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with various built-in appliances, including an induction hob, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, and combi-oven. The kitchen has a movable island and offers access to a sunny terrace on the waterside.
Fourth Floor:
The living room is located on the top floor. This very bright and spacious room has a largely glass ceiling. From this beautiful living space, you have a magnificent view over the water on one side, the top of the Acacia tree on the other side, and at night, a stunning view of the starry sky.
Throughout the house, fixed cabinets have been installed in various places. Storage space is therefore not an issue. The property is equipped with an alarm system.
