The village has some shops, a supermarket, GP, restaurants, several sports clubs and a primary school. There is a good bus connection with the Alkmaar train station and by car you can quickly drive towards the A9 (Haarlem/Schiphol/Amsterdam) via the N9. Groet is within walking distance of the beach, forests, the highest dunes in the Netherlands and three kilometres from the popular village of Schoorl.
