Description
UNFORTUNATELY IT IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE TO SCHEDULE VIEWINGS.
Herenstraat 128 in Leiden is a characteristic apartment full of history and charm. Located in the heart of the garden city district, a very popular area, this apartment is a unique combination of city living and authentic architecture. With its classic facade, large windows and atmospheric details, the building exudes elegance.
History:
A. Kukler Fruithandel was a well-known fruit shop in Leiden, active for a large part of the 20th century. The shop was founded by Antoon Kukler and was located at Haarlemmerstraat 2. The shop was a classic family business, where Antoon Kukler himself was in charge of the daily management and the company was known for the freshness and quality of its products.
During the Second World War, the shop was temporarily closed by the Germans, but the company survived the war and flourished again afterwards. After the war, the shop remained a well-known place for the residents of Leiden for many years.
In 1973, the company A. Kukler Fruithandel moved to Herenstraat 128 in Leiden. The new location at Herenstraat 128 became the new home base for the fruit trade, where the company continued its activities and continued to contribute to the local community of Leiden. The company A. Kukler Fruithandel ceased to exist in 2005. After the closure of A. Kukler Fruithandel in 2005, the building at Herenstraat 128 in Leiden became a residential home.
What a beautiful story, isn't it? Herenstraat 128 is the part where the fruit trade was located. With this home, you literally buy a piece of Leiden history. The current owners bought the apartment at the time to live there as a couple, but it soon became apparent that the family would be expanding. They have adapted the apartment to the changing situation, but unfortunately it turned out that it can no longer meet their wishes and requirements for a complete family with ever-growing children. With a heavy heart, they will have to leave this apartment, but they hope that the new owners will enjoy it as much as they have. It is time to pass the baton.
The layout is as follows:
Ground floor:
Through the front door we enter the hall, through a door in this hall we enter the entrance of the house. If we walk through this we enter a lovely spacious living room with different living levels. If we go to the right, we look out onto a lovely courtyard that we can reach through French doors. Immediately to the right is the kitchen that has a playful character. Next to the kitchen is a door that leads us to the bathroom. The nice thing about this space is that there is a hidden space here that we can reach via a small staircase to the right behind the cupboard wall in the small hall for the bathroom. The next door we find in the living room is a door to "the back house". First we come across the toilet here. Then an extra space that is currently used as an office space. The "master bedroom" with its own bathroom is adjacent to this room. At the back of the living room is a living pit with a staircase to a lowered space that can be used for various purposes. On the floor plans, the hidden space and lowered space are indicated as "Zolder".
