Monumental living with a view over the most beautiful canal in Leiden! Stretch a bit and then wake up very slowly. It's not very early anymore, but it seems like the city is still sleeping. How quiet it is here. Once you open your eyes, you will immediately enjoy it: the high roof with its centuries-old beam construction remains a pleasure to look at every time. This will be another wonderful day! When you get out of bed on your way to the bathroom, you pass the study. You take a look inside and know that you have to get started here, but you postpone it for a while. The sofa bed is still folded, but friends will come again this weekend and stay overnight. It's really nice to have such an extra room. Maybe also for the little ones... but that is still in the future. After a fresh shower it is time to go downstairs. The living room is bathed in morning light and the reflection of the sun on the water creates a rippling play of light on the walls. The view over the canal remains spectacular, whether you look to the right towards the academy building or to the left towards the Van der Werf Park. Yesterday it was a bit colder and we turned on the fireplace. It certainly creates a lot of atmosphere with a roaring fire and old beamed ceilings when you sit together on the couch. Make yourself a Nespresso in the kitchen to really wake up. It's Thursday and tomorrow is still a working day, but Saturday is the weekend: do some shopping at the market and then cook for your friends. It will be a lot of fun again and there will be plenty of compliments when they see where you live! Aj, forgot to do the shopping yesterday. You still have to quickly visit the bakery and butcher around the corner in Doezastraat to get a breakfast. It is possible just before the first call: go down the stairs, through the outside door and take a quick, short walk. The car is ready a little further along the canal, but it will have to wait for you. You don't have an appointment in Amsterdam until this afternoon. Or do you take the bike to Leiden Central Station and take the train? It makes little difference in travel time, so you have to weigh it up. In any case, you already know one thing for sure: what a wonderful place you live!
