The sellers story
‘I moved in here in 2021 and from day 1 I have lived here wonderfully. On a sunny day, you throw open the doors to the garden and it's really enjoyable with a cup of coffee outside. At the back is a large car park which also makes the garden unobstructed. Furthermore, it is lovely to have so much space in the house. The cosy city centre is very close by and I will definitely miss it. In addition, both train station and motorway are very close by, which I really like. The neighbourhood is also getting nicer and nicer and a nice park nearby. The house is otherwise completely finished and is a lovely place to live. I'm definitely going to miss it!’
TOUR
Picture this...
You wake up to birds singing. You take a shower in your modern bathroom and walk downstairs.
The kids are already sitting at the dining table and your partner is frying a delicious egg in your luxurious open kitchen, which is fully equipped, including a quooker and two ovens.
After breakfast, grab your cargo bike and ride through Muiderslot Park and drop the kids off at school.
Then you drive on to the historic centre of Weesp, where you and your neighbour have a nice cup of coffee at the Eendracht (the apple pie here is really delicious btw).
It is Friday, so you stroll through the market on Nieuwstraat. Back home, you put the beautiful bouquet of flowers in water and open your laptop, because there is also work to be done today. By now it is almost five o'clock, so time to pick up the children from BSO again. Your partner drives past the Karwei to get firelighters, because you will soon be having a barbecue with your friends from Amsterdam.
You can smell the scent of the barbecue, the music is on and the delicious wines (that you got earlier at Petit Clos) are cold. Meanwhile, the children are outside playing with all their friends from the neighbourhood.
The bell rings and your friends are at the door, arriving on their Van Moof, which they can put next to the house in the garden. The wine can be opened and the barbecue can begin. After a lovely summer evening, you put the children to bed. Each in their own spacious room. Together with your partner, you have one last drink in the garden. Life in Weespersluis is good!
THE CITY OF WEESP
Weesp is an authentic fortified town in the province of North Holland, located on the river Vecht. Weesp was granted city rights on 20 May 1355. The historic centre feels like ‘Little Amsterdam’ with its beautiful canals, cosy waterside terraces and many historic buildings. Not only does it feel like Amsterdam, since 24 March 2022 Weesp has officially become an urban area of Amsterdam. So you no longer have to leave the city when you already live in Amsterdam ;-)
Weesp has a lot to offer. There are 7 excellent primary schools, many BSOs and Crèches (note: there are waiting lists) and 2 choices for secondary education. Vechtstede also offers bilingual education.
For sports lovers, there is also plenty of choice. Among others, there is a swimming pool, Hockey club (MHC), Football club (FC Weesp), Tennis club (Weesper tennisclub), many gyms, a riding school (Bleijenberg) and a Watersport Association (WV Weesp).
There is a theatre/cinema (City of Westopa), museums, many nice shops and fun events are organised throughout the year. Think of the Sinterklaas entry, Koningsdag (King's Day), the Sluis-en-bruggenfeest (Lock and Bridge Festival) and a festival (Funky Festival). There are also impressive cycling and sailing routes in Weesp. Don't have your own boat? No problem, because you can simply hire one.
THE WEESPERSLUIS PROJECT
Since 2017, a new residential area between Weesp and Muiden has risen in the former Bloemendalerpolder, called Weespersluis. The area covers over three hundred hectares and consists of three neighbourhoods: Lanenrijk, Waterrijk and Vechtrijk.
In Weespersluis, there is a lot of space for water. There are many canals and a large pond called the Gouw. With your canoe, rowing boat or sup, you can sail around the whole of Weespersluis.
There will be around 300 public moorings in Weespersluis. These can be found along quaysides or in the two harbours to be realised. A jetty is expected to be realised in the harbour in Waterrijk (between Nigtevechtlaan/Nigtevechtkade in Waterrijk 4B1 and Groenevechtkade in Waterrijk 5A1 East) at the end of 2024. For the time being, anyone can moor a sloop there at their own risk.
The lock (Schutsluis) is expected to be ready by the end of 2026. Unfortunately, that will take a while, but then you can sail from Weespersluis onto the Vecht towards ‘t Gooi, Muiden and Amsterdam. We can't wait!
There will also be a beach at the Gouwpark and the shops and restaurants will open their doors at the end of 2024. High time, because then you can finally get a cup of coffee.
Many residents of Weespersluis are from Amsterdam and have (young) children. Very cosy, because this means we are all in the same stage of life. A new house, young children. So you often bump into each other. At childcare or at school, in one of the three parks or many playgrounds, at the ice cream shop in the centre, at the Eendracht, in the Diemer forest, at the playground (Don Bosco), at the stand in Muiderberg or at another fun place in the vicinity of Weesp.
Weespersluis is ideally located, just 10 train minutes from Amsterdam and close to ‘t Gooi.
Ideal if you want to grab a bite to eat, catch a festival or work in Amsterdam, Almere or ‘t Gooi.
By car, you're at Schiphol Airport within 20 minutes, so convenient if you're going on holiday.
LANENERIJK NEIGHBOURHOOD:
Lanenrijk has a garden city character, with homes around a courtyard or on an avenue, canal or park street. In a park-like setting with the water always nearby. Most of the homes have a green transition zone between the house and the street, e.g. through a veranda and/or a front garden. The houses are built in Fin de siècle architecture (from the period around 1900), a richly decorated style with indoor-outdoor spaces such as bay windows, conservatories, verandas and loggias and facades with a vertical character.
