Description

FOUR 3D PRINTED ROCK HOMES These innovative 3D printed homes stand like boulders in their natural wooded surroundings in a special spot in Bosrijk in Eindhoven. As if they have always been there with Bryce Canyon as inspiration. From the outside a true eye-catcher in boulder shape surrounded by a green room of nature. Inside extremely comfortable, cozy, light and quiet. This project is a first, the 3D concrete printed homes meet all contemporary building, quality and comfort requirements. Landscape and interior are maximally connected. After the first 2021 home, four more unique homes are now being realized, all of which are being "built" using 3D concrete printing technology. Project Milestone can rightly be called a milestone - not only because of the concrete printing technology, but thereby precisely also in design. Whereas concrete traditionally often calls for rectilinear, rigid building designs, thanks to 3D printing technology there is now more freedom of form. And that is reflected in the design of the five homes. The homes of project Milestone are already seen as the tastemakers of Bosrijk. Project Milestone is a special collaboration between the municipality of Eindhoven, TU Eindhoven and the companies Van Wijnen, Saint Gobain-Weber Beamix and Witteveen+Bos. The design of the homes is by Houben / Van Mierlo architects. WHAT MAKES THESE 4 HOMES SO SPECIAL? Design! Thanks to the construction method with 3D concrete printing, the architect had great design freedom. This is also reflected in the design of the homes. Thanks to their shape, the houses have a futuristic and timeless feel at the same time. Futuristic because of the striking architectural style, timeless because the homes suggest that they are part of the landscape. Living comfort! It is a cozy, light and quiet home equipped with all modern conveniences, such as underfloor heating and a ventilation system with heat recovery. The house is natural gas-free and is heated via the municipal heat grid. Space all around! Around the house you will find no fence or fencing. The natural environment belongs to all residents of Bosrijk. This gives a nice spacious feeling. The living room offers access through a sliding door to the terrace of durable composite with the natural look of wood.
