SEXBIERUM
Near Harlingen and Franeker, near the Wadden Sea lies the ancient village of Sexbierum. Together with Pietersbierum it forms a double village with about 1900 inhabitants. There are plenty of (sports) clubs for tennis, handball, soccer, music, judo, chess, theater, billiards and cards. There is also a modern supermarket, a village hall, youth box, elementary school, library and about 50 companies. The residents are very friendly and there is a good sense of community. On a 10min drive away there are the towns of Harlingen and Franeker where you can find everything from schools, cozy shopping, cozy restaurants, all major supermarkets and a hospital. The cultural capital Leeuwarden can be reached within 20min, and Amsterdam 1hr15min.
