Description
Completely renovated in style and very beautifully finished city house of approx. 145m2! The house is located in the middle of the historic center of Weesp, on the lively Achtergracht, but on a quiet spot hidden behind green trees.
With a mixed destination on the ground floor, there are, in addition to living, numerous possibilities for the ground floor of this unique house. Shop at home, office at home, practice space at home, storage space webshop, extra bedroom(s), play floor for the children, you name it and it's possible here!
This ground-level house of three floors (excl. loft) has been thoroughly renovated in recent years and the same classic style has been applied throughout the house. Every detail has been taken into account! Think of wooden floors, Portuguese tiles, carved doors, black and ash blue accent colors, stained glass, marble, Piet Zwart kitchen and en-suite doors.
LAYOUT
Ground floor (68m2 BVO)
From the street side you enter the spacious and very light porch where you can easily store a bicycle or your garden furniture to enjoy the outdoors and have a cup of coffee when the weather is nice.
Behind this is a sea of ??space! The ground floor has a mixed destination and almost every conceivable function of this beautiful space is possible. Over almost the entire length there are separate cabinets with panel doors for a lot of storage space. These can be taken over or removed for extra floor space.
At the rear of the ground floor there is a separate renovated multifunctional space furnished as a garden room. This can be closed off with beautiful wooden en-suite doors. The floor is covered with charming Portuguese tiles and the space is very light due to the large skylights.
The ground floor is interrupted lengthwise by a small elevation and a washbasin with furniture.
Next to the washbasin is the door to the hall which gives access to the separate toilet and the stairs to the first floor.
First floor (59m2 GFA)
The living room with open kitchen is located on the entire first floor. There are large windows at both the front and the back, which makes it wonderfully light despite the depth of the space. The front facade was insulated during the renovation and new rotating parts were installed in the frames with double glazing.
The deep windowsills invite you to enjoy the sun with a cup of coffee or glass of wine in your hands.
The beautiful Piet Zwart kitchen has been largely renovated and equipped with all the necessary (partly built-in) appliances.
In the middle of the floor there are four large built-in/storage cupboards and two staircases that both lead to the second floor.
Second floor (59m2 GFA)
On the second floor there are two spacious bedrooms with skylights. In the middle of the floor is the large (and largely renovated) bathroom with walk-in shower, separate bath, washbasin, washbasin unit, toilet and a beautiful fixed storage unit with the washing machine connection behind it.
Above the second floor there is an attic for extra storage space.
The roof was renovated and insulated in around 1995.

AREA
The name Achtergracht already gives it away; the street, in the middle of the historic center of Weesp, was once a canal that was filled in 1960 due to the growth of the city, mainly due to the rich gin industry. As in a large part of the center, the destination here is also shop-residential. In this way, homes and shops/business alternate in the plinth. In the street you will find an Albert Heijn and a Vomar, there is also a yoga studio, print shop and hairdresser. The HEMA is on the corner of the street.
Weesp is an old fortified city with a rich history with more than 200 national monuments, surrounded by water. The popular river Vecht meanders right through the city. The center of Weesp offers plenty of entertainment, from the many private shops, to a cinema/theater, good restaurants with cozy terraces on the water, historic churches, a large market on Tuesdays and the organic market on Fridays, and vibrant cafes. The central location, the many water sports options and the many popular events that the city organizes, make Weesp a popular residential destination.
The center of Weesp is also characterized by the great diversity of shops. From the butcher and greengrocer to no fewer than 3 artisan bakers, shoe store, children's clothing and toy stores and the tastiest ice cream in the Netherlands (Nelis' ice cream parlor). From a wide selection of hairdressers to pet shops. From private specialty shops and clothing stores to trendy concept stores. But of course you can also go to the larger chains here, such as Albert Heijn, Pearle, Vomar, Blokker, Kruidvat and Hema.
Go to a performance in the Wesopa theater, have a beer in the church at the Wispe Brewery, go to an exhibition at the museum in the City Hall (miniature Palace on Dam Square), get an ice cream at Nelis, taste a Weespermop at the artisanal baker, visit one of the many historic mills and walk over the historic bridge over the Vecht to the Fort Ossenmarkt monument on the island.
For nature and cycling enthusiasts, this is also the perfect place to live. Surrounded by the Vecht and the meadows, you can easily go out on your bike here, through the polders and along the water towards Amsterdam or the Gooi.
ACCESSIBILITY
Weesp is located close to Amsterdam. Weesp station is a 3-minute bike ride away (or a 10-minute walk). The train takes you to Amsterdam Muiderpoort station in 11 minutes and to Amsterdam Central Station in 16 minutes.
By car, you can reach Amsterdam East in just fifteen minutes.
Weesp is also a particularly good base for the Gooi and the east of the country. You can reach the A1 in just a few minutes by car and the train connections to the east are also very good.
